Yoga Nidra is a conscious relaxation exercise that is intended to induce total physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. The technique of yoga nidra trains the body to move past the waking state, and into one of deep sleep. However, the mind is still active, so it is a state that is described as being awake and asleep at the same time.

Besides helping with relaxation, when you are in this state, you are able to access your subconscious mind, and with regular practice, make changes to your habitual thought and behavioural patterns.

Yoga nidra is a very powerful exercise that helps improve sleep and ease insomnia, decreases stress and anxiety, and heightens awareness and focus.
