Once you sign up for the Postnatal Yoga and Breathwork class, our trainers will call you for a free consultation, to help you customize your classes, and pick the timings for your weekly sessions – multiple slots are available each day.
The sequences in these sessions are carefully curated to help with gradual postnatal recovery and helping the body get back into shape. Yoga has shown to be an effective intervention for pregnant women, and exercising key joints and muscle groups helps to regain balance & mobility, after the changes the body undergoes during pregnancy.
Ashtanga yoga poses focus on building muscle strength, helping with weight loss, toning the body, and energizing the mind. Beyond the physical benefits, studies have shown that yoga can also have a positive mental impact on women after pregnancy, by helping to alleviate symptoms of postpartum depression.
Breathing exercises can boost overall lung health in postpartum mothers, helping to limit any respiratory effects of pregnancy. Different combinations of breathing exercises also help to calm the body and mind, by reducing symptoms of stress and anxiety, enabling a smoother adjustment to motherhood.
Note: Experts typically recommend waiting for at least 6 weeks after a normal delivery, or 8 weeks after a C-Section, to start any form of physical exercise. We strongly advise consulting your gynaecologist before you attend this program.
