Sessions in this program are designed to help ease the symptoms of a variety of common digestive issues such as stomach pain, nausea, and acid reflux. Simple yoga exercises can help massage different organs to enhance the overall health of the digestive tract.
Specific twists and stretches target the abdominal area, helping to relax the organs in the region, and alleviate distention and discomfort in the stomach. These asanas also help to improve blood circulation throughout the gastrointestinal tract.
Studies have also shown yoga to be an effective way to control the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Regular practice in conjunction with prescribed medication can help to reduce heartburn, postprandial fullness and bloating, and nausea.
