Sessions in this programme are a combination of breathwork followed by yoga, that helps to relieve the biological and physiological symptoms of PCOS/D. Breathing exercises help release deeply-stored stress in the body, which helps alleviate PCOS symptoms.
Yoga postures practised in these sessions help open up the pelvic area, increasing the blood flow to the abdominal region, which helps regulate the menstrual cycles. These postures help to balance the hormones, and also have a positive impact on cholesterol levels in women with PCOS and also aiding weight loss. Research shows that yoga postures practised in this programme are beneficial in improving glucose and lipid values among adolescent girls with PCOS.
Guided visualization and other relaxing meditation techniques in some of the sessions focus on your mental well-being, to combat stress, anxiety, and irregular sleep patterns that may be caused by PCOS/D. A common problem for women with PCOS is anxiety, and relaxing meditation techniques provide an effective and non-invasive treatment to manage it.
