Sessions in this program have been carefully curated to provide symptomatic relief from the physiological effects of menstrual cramps, as well as the psychological impacts of period pains.
Yoga can have a number of advantages for premenopausal women. Research has shown that simple sequences of poses help stretch and strengthen muscles in the abdomen. Specific poses also help to improve blood flow to the uterus, and keep the body more relaxed. Other stretches that focus on the core also help to strengthen key muscles in the arms, legs, and spine, improving overall balance and stability.
Breathing exercises and guided meditations performed in conjunction with yoga also help to alleviate symptoms of stress and anxiety that often accompany period cramps. Certain studies have shown that practicing mindfulness can also reduce the frequency of premenstrual cravings.
